More Details

The Surly Moonlander isn’t just a bike — it’s a terrain-defying machine built for places where normal bikes fear to tread. With massive 4.8" tires on 100mm rims, it floats over snow, sand, rocks, roots, gravel, and mud, delivering traction and control previously unimaginable. Its oversized footprint allows for ultra-low tire pressures, turning every ride into a “snowshoe for your bike,” while maintaining stability and confidence in even the most extreme conditions.

Built from 4130 CroMoly steel with frame-specific tubing, the Moonlander combines durability with precision geometry. The frame mimics standard mountain bike geometry with a thoughtfully low bottom bracket for clearance, yet a high enough standover and headtube for comfortable, all-day riding. Its 135mm horizontal dropouts with a derailleur hanger allow flexible drivetrains: singlespeed, internal gear hub, or standard derailleur setups. Whether bushwhacking, snow-trekking, or exploring places where trails don’t exist, the Moonlander thrives in environments others can’t touch.
