Sapim Butted Spokes – Race & Laser Series

Sapim butted spokes are engineered for less weight and increased strength. Using SCFT (Sapim Cold Forging Technology), each spoke is stretched while maintaining the linear molecular structure of the steel, increasing middle-section strength by at least 48%.

The Race is Sapim’s most popular double-butted spoke, with a thinner middle section that absorbs shocks better than non-butted spokes. This design also reduces torsion, making tensioning easier and more precise. The Laser series shares similar benefits, while the Strong model adds extra material at the bend for a tighter hub fit, making it ideal for tandems and heavy-duty applications.
