More Details

The Marin Bobcat Trail 4 is a modern hardtail mountain bike developed for riders who want capable trail performance, dependable everyday usability and room to progress as their skills grow. Built around a Series 2 6061 aluminum frame, the Bobcat Trail 4 combines strength, low weight and confident handling for cross-country riding, recreational trails, gravel paths and mixed off-road terrain.

The frame is designed around 27.5-inch or 29-inch wheels, depending on size, helping Marin maintain balanced handling and rider fit across the range. Its low standover design improves confidence and maneuverability, especially on technical sections, while internal housing gives the bike a clean appearance and helps protect cables from dirt and trail debris. Dedicated internal dropper post routing also makes future upgrades easier.

Front suspension is handled by an SR Suntour XCM HLO-DS fork with 120mm travel. The additional travel helps absorb impacts from rocks, roots and rough trail surfaces, giving riders better control and comfort when terrain becomes more demanding. A hydraulic lockout allows the suspension to be firmed up for smoother roads and climbing sections where improved pedaling efficiency is useful.

The bike rolls on Marin aluminum double-wall rims with a 25mm internal width, supported by forged alloy hubs and 14g black stainless-steel spokes. Wide Delium Versatile 2.4-inch tires use a triple-compound tread and tubeless-compatible construction, delivering a stable footprint with dependable traction on dirt, loose surfaces and mixed terrain.

A Shimano CUES 10-speed drivetrain provides a simple and effective single-chainring setup. The Shimano CUES U6000GS rear derailleur incorporates a clutch to help control chain movement on rough sections, while the 11-48T Shimano CUES cassette offers a broad gear range for climbing, rolling trails and faster sections. The 32T narrow-wide chainring helps improve chain retention and keeps the drivetrain clean and straightforward.

Braking performance comes from Tektro M280 hydraulic disc brakes. A 180mm front rotor provides stronger braking power where it is needed most, while the 160mm rear rotor offers controlled modulation and reliable stopping performance. This setup provides confidence during descents, emergency stops and changing trail conditions.

The trail-focused cockpit uses a 780mm Marin riser handlebar with a 12mm rise, paired with a short 45mm Marin alloy stem. This combination gives the rider improved steering leverage and responsive handling on technical terrain. Marin MTB grips and an FSA No.10-P headset complete the front-end setup.

A 30.9mm Marin alloy seatpost and Marin MTB saddle provide a practical finishing package, while the frame’s dropper compatibility gives riders the option to upgrade for better descending control and increased freedom of movement.

With its 6061 aluminum frame, 120mm suspension fork, Shimano CUES 10-speed drivetrain, wide-range 11-48T cassette, hydraulic disc brakes and 2.4-inch tubeless-compatible tires, the Marin Bobcat Trail 4 is a well-rounded hardtail MTB for riders who want a capable and upgrade-friendly bike for trail riding, cross-country use and recreational mountain biking.

Ideal For: Trail riding, cross-country cycling, gravel paths, recreational MTB, fitness riding, technical learning and mixed-terrain adventures.
