Rohloff Chain Tensioner – SPEEDHUB 500/14 Compatible

The Rohloff Chain Tensioner is a spring-loaded device designed to maintain consistent chain tension in single driveline applications, ensuring smooth and reliable operation. It is especially essential when horizontal adjustment of the SPEEDHUB 500/14 is not possible or in rear suspension systems, where the distance between the bottom bracket and rear axle varies throughout travel. The chain tensioner is also ideal for any conversion to a single driveline system, including SPEEDHUB 500/14 or single-speed setups.

Installation is simple and straightforward: the tensioner mounts to the existing derailleur hanger, with spacers providing lateral adjustability. For quick wheel removal, the tensioner swings back, allowing the wheel to be pulled out of the dropouts without disassembly. Its tensioning capacity of 10 chain links accommodates even long-travel rear suspension systems.

For dropouts thinner than 7mm, the use of a 13-tooth sprocket (chain line 58mm) requires a longer mounting bolt (sold separately). The Rohloff Chain Tensioner is compatible with 1/2" x 3/32" and 1/2" x 11/128" chains.
