Developed in collaboration with renowned aerodynamicist Simon Smart, the OSPW Aero system has been designed to optimise airflow around the rear derailleur while simultaneously reducing drivetrain losses. This dual focus on aerodynamics and mechanical efficiency makes it particularly valuable for time trials, triathlons, road racing, and performance-focused cycling where marginal watt savings can make a meaningful difference.
The system uses a 15-tooth upper pulley wheel and a 19-tooth lower pulley wheel. These oversized pulley dimensions reduce the amount of chain articulation required as the chain travels through the rear derailleur, helping lower drivetrain friction and support smoother power transfer.
Both pulley wheels are precision-manufactured from aluminium, providing a strong, durable, and performance-oriented construction suitable for demanding racing and training environments.
At the heart of the system are handbuilt CeramicSpeed Coated Bearings. These premium ceramic bearings are engineered for exceptionally low rolling resistance and extended durability. The coated bearing races provide additional resistance to wear, helping maintain smooth pulley operation and consistent drivetrain efficiency over prolonged use.
